Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University will collaborate with the recently launched National Career service portal www.ncs.gov.in of Govt of India. This portal will act as an interface and platform between employers and unemployed youth. Potential employers can post their requirement whereas institutions can upload the availability of qualified skilled technicians in the website. This portal will have information on degree, diploma, certificate courses, internship, assistantship, apprenticeship and career counselling programmes. As part of additional skill acquisition programme 37 sector skills council in the area of 59 areas including IT, ITeS, agriculture, agribusiness, dairying, livestock production, manufacturing, services, etc. along with the diploma, apprentice and training programmes will be listed in the NCS portal. They include diploma in Dairy Science, Laboratory techniques, Poultry production. Apprenticeship programme on meat technology, dairy technology, hospital management, entrepreneurship development, skill development, career counselling, socio educational project. University will list the student entrepreneurship projects, opportunities for under graduate and graduate students in the web portal. In the era where Government of India is giving more thrust to skills India and digital India programme, interfaces in the National Career service will help the unemployed skill oriented youth to find appropriate jobs within the country. University will soon launch a separate Student entrepreneurship portal highlighting the student entrepreneurship, opportunities within the country and abroad, direct benefit transfer of remuneration for part time work, soft skill development, career counselling and education abroad. NCS brings together 1031 Career Centers, 20407548 registered Jobseekers, 129 Career Counsellors for career guidance, 23936 Skill Providers with career building courses and 1684 registered Employers with active jobs in 53 sectors. Unemployed youths can register through the portal. There is provision for linking the portal with employment exchanges for registration and renewal.
